Stage Lights empowers local theater groups, schools, and cultural organizations to bring their productions to life by offering a comprehensive sponsorship package. This program aims to alleviate the financial burden of producing shows, allowing artists and performers to focus on creating meaningful and high-quality performances that enrich Maui’s cultural landscape.

What We Sponsor:

Theater Productions: Support for full-scale productions, from youth theater to community theater and professional productions.
Cultural Performances: Sponsorship for Hawaiian cultural performances, hula shows, musical revues, and other forms of artistic expression that celebrate Maui’s rich heritage.
School Productions: Assistance for school drama clubs, performing arts centers, and educational programs in producing shows for students and the local community.
Original Works: Funding and resources for new, original plays, musicals, and performances that reflect the unique voices and stories of Maui.

What the Sponsorship Includes:

Financial Support: Direct funding to cover production costs such as set design, costumes, lighting, props, and more.
Venue Assistance: Support with securing performance spaces, whether in theaters, community centers, or outdoor venues.
Marketing & Promotion: Assistance with marketing, including digital campaigns, social media promotion, and printed materials, ensuring shows reach a wide audience.
Ticketing & Access: Use of our Ticketing Program and underwriting ticket costs for underserved communities through our PlusOne Ticket program, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience the arts.
Technical Support: Access to the Maui Theatre Shop for costumes, props, and technical resources needed for the production.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a Maui-based theater group, school, or cultural organization.
The production must be open to the community and celebrate the performing arts or Hawaiian culture.
Applications must include a detailed budget, production plan, and a vision statement for how the show will engage the community.

An application will be sent within 48 hours.
Applications are reviewed by a panel of arts professionals, and decisions are based on alignment with our mission, community impact, and financial needs.

Sponsorship Levels:

Spotlight: Up to $1,000 for small or emerging productions.
Encore: $5,000 for mid-sized productions and community theater.
Mainstage: $10,000+ for larger productions, cultural performances, or significant community impact projects.

StageLights ensures that more productions come to life, giving local talent the opportunity to shine and providing the community with enriching performances. It creates a sustainable support system for the performing arts on Maui, builds connections across organizations, and ensures that Maui’s cultural and artistic identity remains vibrant for generations to come.
